Al Hawash Private University Students celebrating Second Anniversary
Students and staff of Al Hawash Private University celebrated the second anniversary of the university on Friday evening 19/3/2010.
The celebration was attended by a large audience of government officials and public figures (the public) that enjoyed different performances presented by the university students including a play called This Is Who We Are / We Are This, pieces of classical music played on the piano, and many songs.
The celebration also included honoring the top students.
One of the organizers, student Khalid Hourieh mentioned that the main distinguishing feature of this year festivity was the remarkable contribution of the university students who put a lot of effort in that, working for months hand in hand, and this itself led to more interaction among them.
Mohammed Al-Saqa, who acted in the play, said that though he is a third year student in the Pharmacy College, it was the first time he stands on a theater stage to present a 45-minute student play. He mentioned that they practiced almost daily for four months.
Another comment came from one of the honored students, Carol Tayar, a third year student in the Pharmacy College, who expressed her happiness to be honored. She also said that the university administration continuous encouragement to the top students is very important and it motivates students to make more progress.
The evening was concluded by a dinner for the students and the staff in the university canteen.
